Mindful Draw Instructions

To get started, click or touch the black space to start drawing. You will see your strokes slowly disappear as you continue to draw.

Understanding Mindful Draw Controls

  • Select Sound to play calming music while you work, there is also an optional timer here if you'd like to do a timed practice. Click the back arrow to go back to your settling menu. On the bottom left you will see a play button, this controls your music as you work.
  • Select Brush Size to change the thickness of your strokes. The slower you move your cursor will also change the thickness of your lines.
  • Select Brush Color to explore different color options.
  • Select Brush Fade to change how quickly your brush strokes fade from the scene.
  • Select Brush Style to change your brushes mark between free draw and blotter.
  • On the top right you can use save to save a .jpg to your desktop, or the clear to start over.
Once your settings have been modified, click the settings button again to close the menu and begin your practice. Simply touch and drag your cursor around the black space to draw anything you wish. You will see your strokes slowly disappear as you continue to draw.

Helpful prompts to support your client explore Mindful Draw:
  • How are you feeling right now? Close your eyes and get in touch with the feeling and make the design. Take deep breaths and watch it fade.
  • Think of something you want to let go of - what's on your mind? Close your eyes and think about whatever that is and draw that - it could be colors, shapes, lines and even colors.
  • Pair this app with other media that is lasting, such as a word cloud, drawing, clay, etc.
  • Use it to tell a story.
